Landmannahellir is a good stop for those riding through the highlands, as it has good facilities for horses and travelers. For the horses, there are three large paddocks, 40 horse stalls, and hay.
Sleeping accommodations are in eight houses, for a total of 92 guests in single and double rooms. The houses are heated, with running water, cooking facilities, and a toilet.
There is also a camping area, a shed, and a parking area for cars, a small house with a laundry area, a barbecue, and a fishing license office at Landmannahellir.
The camping area at Landmannahellir is on a grassy field by the farmhouse at Landmannahellir on the banks of the Hellisvísl River. The area can accommodate up to 50 tents. Fishing licenses can be purchased at Landmannahellir in the lakes south of the Tungnaá River. It is also possible to reserve a room in one of the eight huts at Landmannahellir.
On the camping grounds there is a water tap, a barbecue, and a shower. Then campers can go into the old farmhouse and have a meal or take a break!
