Um tjaldsvæðið

The campsite is located west of Eyrarbakki, west of Hafnarbrú. The campsite is located near a bird sanctuary and right by the river.

Eyrarbakki is a friendly village on the South Coast with a rich history, well-preserved old houses and beautiful nature. There are two museums in Eyrarbakki, the Árnesinga Heritage Museum located in Húsið, the historic home of merchants, and the Maritime Museum a short walk away. There is a cozy and homely atmosphere in Húsið and the story is at every step. The museums are located in the center of the village, right by the church.

In Eyrarbakki Church you will find an altarpiece painted by Queen Louise of Denmark. On the same turf is the Rauða Húsið restaurant which welcomes travelers with a good cup of coffee or meal. Everyone must take a walk around the village. Then you can admire the old houses, visit the craftsman Regína or go to the old icehouse in Gónhóll where there are markets and galleries. Vesturbúðin is located nearby, a full-service store and gas station where you can find the essentials and watch the ball game on TV.

The campsite is located west of the village in a quiet and comfortable environment with good walking paths from the campsite, whether it is about exploring the charming Eyrarbakki or an enjoyable walk by the river.

The campsite is simple with cold and hot water, electricity is on the premises. The playground is very nice.
